While not a typical review, I wanted to add this podcast to this section because it is simply that good. Two touring cyclists that we met in Zion National Park introduced us to the diaries. We ended up riding with them for over a week, but that’s another story. In passing they mentioned the Dirt Bag Diaries and when I had a listen I was hooked. The podcast consists of stories of adventure travel and, being written by rock climbers, many of the stories are centered on climbing, but this shouldn’t discourage the non-climber. They make sure to feature stories from other types of adventure. Sometimes it’s kayaking, hiking, rafting, or even bike touring and the content ranges from the inspiring, the jaw dropping, the scary, to the tranquil. The stories are written extremely well and have been more than entertaining on the longer, less exciting riding days. More often than not listening to the podcast will reinvigorate my excitement for not only the trip we are on but trips I now want to go on. For better or worse the diaries have lengthened my already near impossible bucket list by a factor of two! I assure you its worth a listen and I would bet after a few you will be hooked just like me.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
