Water is essential on any extended adventure but carrying it efficiently can be challenging. MSR has a solution called the Dromedary. It comes in four different sizes and they are all tough as nails. A thick canvas outer skin that can really take a beating encloses the water bladder. There are also eyelets around the edge to which the included strap can be attached to anchor the bag when in use. We found these tie downs very useful. When the 10L bag is full its heavy and has a tendency to slosh around unless secured. The filling port on the bag is large and ice cubes can easily be poured into the bag to keep your water cool if needed. In the desert we found this was necessary as the black bag tended to get very hot in the middle of the day. Even though the bag could be left in the sun for a few hours and it would create a great warm shower, we found the color choice to be the only downfall of this reservoir. A lighter color is currently not offered but it would be much appreciated! The bag comes with a small drinking nozzle on the cap which can be replaced with a Camelback type hose and mouth piece if need, but for us the stock cap worked great to fill our water bottles when needed. Through our travels we have even heard of people using these bags as fuel tanks. While I don’t believe this is how they were designed (and we don’t suggest using it in this way) it’s a testament to the ruggedness of the bag!

These things work great and they really are bombproof. MSR has really thought this through and they have a size that will fit any adventure.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
